This was a project I was given for my Sophomore Graphic Design class. I was instructed to create an infographic about anything so I chose to design a climate change graphic that displays the causes of climate change and how we as a planet are trying to lessen our carbon foot print. I chose simple graphics that would attract a wide range of viewers from kids to adults. I also kept my language relatively easy to understand. I chose the colors that you would see on a weather map when showing the temperature around the nation, dark maroon as the hottest and blue as the coldest. I arrange it in a way that resembles a thermometer. When the mercury is at the top of the thermometer, it reads as hot. This works because the climate is rising, hence the negative information about how the world is contributing to the rise in temperature, is at the top. The entire piece was designed with intention, all relating to things we as people are familiar with. The actual length of this piece if printed out and hung with be 11 inches wide by 14 feet tall.
